You are always welcome at Sangaste – alone, with your family or in a group!
The manor property includes the castle, circular stable, dairy, granary and water tower. Currently, only the castle is open for visitors. An arboretum is located behind the castle.
Of special interest inside the castle are the Gothic foyer, the festive ballrooms on the ground floor
and an English-style hunting room.
Located on the second floor is the former library with some of the original furniture still intact, and the ‘Rye Room’ – the former billiards room – which now contains a wall display of the life and rye cultivation activities of Friedrich Georg Magnus von Berg, the lord who built the castle. From the third floor, guests can access the watchtower.
We recommend you book group visits in advance. During the summer season, we reserve the right to restrict the hours of operation.
Admission tickets are sold at the castle. Proceeds go towards the renovation of Sangaste Castle.

The guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Group lunches and coffee breaks at the castle restaurant can be booked in advance.

Guided walk through the Sangaste Arboretum. Explore all the secrets of Estonia’s largest and most diverse forest park. Duration: 1-2.5 hours, price: 45 €/per hour/group.
Local history tour “Roads of the Rye Count“ in a minibus. Visit to the Sangaste Church and the Count’s grave, climbing the Harimäe Viewtower, plus many other activities. Duration: 2 hours, price: (minimum 4 person group): 22 €/person.
